"Reallly? I hadn't noticed," she jibed sarcastically. "To think, my hair has six colours!!"

She frowned a little. "He died. Four moths ago. And his last wish was that I'd keep my hair this way for a few years. My hair was the first thing he noticed about me. He was the one that bought me the crown, too. Said I was his queen." Raye gave a watery smile. "Queen of his dingy apartment."

"I'm not doing this to impress anyone. I'm doing it to honour him."

Leon's look of anger deepened. He hadn't asked for a sob story. Frankly if he wasn't angry right now he would have laughed at Raye's cheesy sorrow. Love was a concept he didn't believe in, and he found it hilarious when others believed in it so blindly until they had their little "hearts broken".

He was the manipulater after all. He was the breaker of hearts. "Cry me a river."He said slowly.

This was why he didn't relationships with people, especially mortal people. People die. It wasm't something he needed to deal with unless it aided him in some way.

"You gonna build the bridge so I can get over it?" she snarked back, unshead tears forgotten. There was an unpleasant sneer on her face. She didn't care too much about her own emotions. There were times when they broke through her carefully constructed walls, but she beat them back quickly. This was one of those times.

"Not a relationship kind of guy? With attitude like that, I'm not surprised."

Leon's eyes opened up a bit more than normal. He let out a soft laugh that was followed by a genuine smile. "Yeah I'm not usually the type to have a date to homecoming." His voice was lighter now. There was emotion behind it, something that showed there was a reason why he was saying what he was saying. He looked at her face, showing his straight, white teeth. His eyes too-dark blue eyes gleamed with something that almost brought about thoughts of innocence. "I never knew it was because of my attitude though."

Raye must be thinking that he was insane now. He'd just been about to start shaking with anger again and now suddenly he had become charismatic. He was toying with her. He'd just wanted to show her his methods in action. It was such a practiced thing that no one could truely doubt the sincerity in his laugh and smile, or that his eyes truely did get three shades lighter to where he looked just like an all-around nice guy.

Apart from his black hair, which yes, even nice guys could have, there was nothing in his behaviour right now that suggested anything different. This was over 30 years of practice in action. There wasn't a single twitch of doubt in his face to break his facade.

This boys new attitude was met with curiosity. Did he have a split personality? "Well it definitely isn't because of your looks, that's for sure," she snorted.

He was a good-looking guy. She couldn't say any different.

Leon just shrugged, nice guy act already gone. Somewhere during the transition he got a sense that he could probably just get in the habit of using his methods all the time. Then he wouldn't he wouldn't have to worry about making enemies. It was like Ndale had told him: enemies did him no good here, or anywhere for that matter.

It just grated on his nerves sometimes to use his methods. People could be so stupid an not even realize it. He already made the decision that he didn't like Raye. Then again, he never really like anybody. When it came to the real Leon and other people he only ever really "tolerated" people. Otherwise he just straight up hated them. There were very few people that he actually like in any real sense. It was funny to think that Ndale could have been one of them, provided he didn't run at him in his cheetah form.

Raye was just another girl. Apart from the fact that the she had the ability to turn into a wolf, and that she seemed to be particularly clumsy, Leon couldn't find anything to tell her apart from any of the other girls at Lillegard. Well, that and her hair, which only served to frustrate him. It was likely he'd forget her name by tomorrow. Oh well.

"You're toying with me," she realised amusedly. It had been a long while since she had been toyed with. "So, that nice side you you, it was an act? No split-peronality?" I whistled lowly. "Yare, yare, I couldn't tell if it was an act or split personality. Do I live up to your standards or am I just another rejected toy?"

Leon looked Raye up and down and shrugged again. "I don't know about a 'rejected toy', but you're nothing special." Leon had no delusions of grandure in that regard either. He didn't want to be anything special. Special attracted attention that was usually of the unwanted variety. He had always been content with staying of the public eye back at Rosewood County and when he did drift into public veiw it was out of boredom as opposed to wanting to be noticed.

"Then again," he continued, "The only real standards I have are either I hate you or I can tolerate. In you're case, well, if you can avoid running me over again, then we shouldn't have a problem."

He always made things out to seem more on the bad side then they really were. Truthfully he had no problem with Raye at the moment. She was smart enough to realize certain things about him and that made it so he didn't have to act as if he wasn't really thinking the thoughts he was thinking. He could just come out and say what was on his mind without having to worry about her getting too upset.

"I can live with not being special."She shrugged non-committally; no skin off her teeth if she wasn't special. She used to strive on being as normal as she could. She shuffled slightly, fingers twitching. She always felt awkward when she was told she wasn't special. Even though she had no particular thoughts about it - and generally agreed with whoever was saying it - in the past the only times she had been told she wasn't special was when people were being spiteful and trying to bring her down.

She chuckled nervously, ruffling the back of her wild blue mane and trying to shove the thoughts of all the Jinn that hated her trying to break her from her head. "I can try. But, y'see, I'm not exactly the most graceful being around..." Wasn't that the understatement of the century. "But I'll make a conscious effort, ne?"

Leon's eyebrows creased a bit and his fists clenched in his hoody pockets. Raye was now drifting further down his toleration meter, shuffling around awkwardly the way she was.

He hated awkward situations, and he hated people that caused them even more. He released his again, this time keeping them in close to his back, and looked at the tip of the lighthouse again. He could take off without a running start, right?

He didn't even know why he was still talking to Raye. She was about as uninteresting as they came. No amount of gracelessness, funky hair colors, or wolf forms was going to change that.

Raye's sheepish grin tightened when she caught sight of Leon's creased eyebrows. Oh, great, I'm annoying him...

Though she may act uncaring to all, she genuinely hated angering other people involuntarily. When she was riling people up of her own choice, she couldn't care less. But in situations like this she really felt awful.

She squared her shoulders and inhaled slowly. "So... nice day today, yeah?"

She mentally berated herself. So... nice day today, yeah? she mocked herself brutally. Wow, he must really think you're an idiot now. Great going, Raye.

Leon's cringed. What kind of statement...? He rubbed his eye, sleepily and let his wings stray out a bit farther. He could feel a headache coming on.

Leon repressed a yawn and shrugged, "Whatever."

He brought his wings lower to the ground and stretched them outward, being careful not to touch the back of Raye's legs.

"Um, yeah... I'm gonna, uh, go before I make this any more awkward," she grumbled, inching backwards.

"It was nice talking to you. I'll, uh, see you around?" she asked hesitantly.

Without waiting for a reply, she turned and began strolling back towards the castle leisurely. She'd probably go to the library and read some Yaoi or go nap in the Theatre.

Napping sounded good.

The second Raye was out of range of his 12 foot wingspan, Leon lifted them up into the air. Bending his knees, he brought them down in one powerful stroke that took him off the ground and into the air. Five strokes later he was at the top of the lighthouse. He didn't look down as the wolf girl left. He'd already forgotten her name.
