| Hello all AALCers!! Soon, or perhaps already, you will be noticing some threads that begin with two exclamation marks, like so: "!!" These exclamation marks will serve as a sign that the thread which they belong to will somehow reveal some key plot points about the story line. They will either be run by an admin (renny, coni, pyek, habren) or an NPC account. - So what do you do when you see these symbols? Does it mean invitation only?
No! Anyone is free to join. However, we do ask that (not including the NPC) you keep to a limit of 4 participators.
- Is there a specific way that we're supposed to RP in the Plot Threads?
Not really, however because a plot point will be revealed during the course of the thread, we do ask that you are extra careful to be timely. Normally we know that people, very kindly, wait for another's turn in a thread. But a plot event thread will not wait for you. The NPC will move things along if they believe you are taking too long.
- But what if I joined a Plot Event thread, and later don't have time to keep up with it?
There is a very simple answer to this question, and it is: bow out. Just have your character exit in one way or another. No one will blame you for it, we promise.
- Alright, well how long is too long?
When it is your turn, please try not to take any longer than 72 hours. That's three days for those of you trying to figure it out on a calendar. Because these threads will have about 5 people in them, you probably won't have something to reply to every day anyways.
- Help! I took too long to reply and the thread moved on without me and I still want to participate! What do I do?!
Okay, first of all stop freaking out. Second, jump back in! Just pretend that your character had a moment of.. I don't know, amnesia or something. That said, please try not to make a habit of it. RPers around here tend to be quick, and they won't look kindly on having to wait for you each time it's your turn if you aren't even going to reply.
- Some common etiquette stuff...
If you are already in a plot event thread, try not to jump on the next one until others, that are not in any plot threads, have had the chance to join. This includes multiple characters. If you would like to join a plot thread, and it is already busy, send a message to the NPC and either ask to join or ask when the next one will begin. We will do our best to begin threads in varying time zones.
Any other questions? Good! Ask away, and we'll do our best to provide an adequate and timely answer. \o/ |
