Jami nodded as she heard him remind her he might not go still. As the walked the flame warmed them. Her hand which was consumed in the flames was the warmest but it wouldn't burn her. the scool was lacking in modern techonology. But that would ruin the beauty of the school in a way. As Owen reached out to touch the flame jami winced and made it shrink in side, "It hurt's everyone but me." She said in a flat tone. "It isn't just colored fire, it has dark magic in it. It makes the burns harded to heal. Thats why it is black. It is green cause magic and beause it is so hot."

She looked to him with a blank face. It was obvious she was thinking of a traumatic flame involved event. "You know how red heat is the coolest and white is the hottest. Green's in the middle and, red even hurts humans...everyone pretty bad." she sighed and made the flame grow larger again, sure it wouldn't go haywire.

Needless to say, Jami's flat tone was discouraging - it was clear she wasn't at all amused. He wondered if he'd said the wrong thing, or if she thought he was being an idiot. Or a combination of both.

But her logic, apparently, had missed the dark-haired boy's head. His hearing was capable, and he was well aware of the words she'd spoken and the information conveyed. Despite all of this, he stuck his hand out anyway until he felt the sharp heat against his fingers. He pulled his hand back, rubbing it against his shirt. "Yeah, that is hot.." he confirmed with curt, confident nod.

His expression did turn slightly concerned at her lack of amusement. His eyes glanced around a bit in a silent pause before speaking. "...Something wrong?"

When Owen stuck his hand in her fire any way she frowned moving it to her other hand. "Don't do that!" she reached her free hand to his and inspected it. "Does it hurt?" she worried. Seeing that it was fine she dropped it though and rubbed her face. Was something wrong? Something always did seem to go wrong so probably.

"The fire. Talking about it bring up, some bad memories. That's all." she tried to put a smile on as they walked, nearing the dorms now.

Owen tried to chuckle apologetically to Jami when she pulled the fire away, but it was obvious that she didn't appear to be much in the mood for a joke. Admittedly, he could still feel the heat on his fingers, but it wasn't anything that would leave a burn. "I'm fine," he insisted with a confident nod.

His nod turned meek at her explanation. "Oh. The fire. Yeah." How could he be so insensitive? He made a mental note not to talk about fire near her again. "Sorry, we won't, uh, talk about fires then." He looked off to the side, realising that he didn't know what else to say in terms of conversation. His glance turned towards the dorms they were approaching. "It's been, uh, swell, right? Haven't bored you to death..?" He tried to smile.

Hearing he was fine didn't make Jami feel any better. She knew it probably did something to his hand but she wasn't going to bother him about it. She nodded her head when he subjested they not talk about it, fire. lt seemed fine when she didn't have to talk about it's damaging power the same with her exploding ability. The new conversation was a better one though she Smiled and laughed a bit. "I have had a great time! You're my best friend, Owen. I am glad we can nave crazy outings like this Gives us both something to do."

She let the flame around her hand brighten and in large , seeing that it was getting darker and the cold was creeping closer. They had almost reached the dorms now, and Jami couldn't wait to get cleaned up and eat dinner. she would probably eat loads of meats and potatoes.

At her laugh, he smiled hopefully. It was a promising sign, at least. But he couldn't help but bashfully bow his head at her words. A great time? Did she really think so? He hadn't imagined that he'd been that entertaining, but the remark from Jami did boost his confidence. He chuckled under his breath. "Yeah... I've had fun too." He smiled somewhat guiltily. "A little better than lying around all day..." Although, to be fair, that was probably what he was going to do the moment he returned to his dorm.

Upon reaching the dorms, Owen pushed the door, opening it to allow Jami to pass in an 'after you' manner. The interior was almost as chilly as outside, but at least there was no wind. "Could have another day out... if you'd like... after I recover," he joked.

It was nice to see Owen had a good time as well. the purpose was exactly that after all. No need for him to stay in his room all day. Especially if she was his friend. Being back inside was nice. She extinguished her flames and took a deep breath of ... dry air. She coughed a bit at the sudden change of quality. Chilly temperatures stayed pretty constant though.

"That would be great." she replied sweetly. Looking down at her clothes she frowned. The mess was starting to get to her now. "I think i am going to clean up. See you later?" She looked at him with a serious question face. She stayed long enough to hear an answer and then dashed down the halls to the nearest bathroom.

Owen nodded to her with a chuckle. Clean up? Girls! They always had to be so fickle about cleanliness. Then again, she did have a pig use her as a doormat. But it wasn't thaaat bad... Well, maybe it was, but by no means an emergency. And this was coming from someone who had an entire streak of brown down his front.

"Sure thing," he nodded, before turning away back towards his own dorm. Yes, he enjoyed it, but part of him was just relieved that he didn't have to try and keep a good, social attitude up. It was difficult being nice.
