| Aisling gulped slightly, and walked slowly over to the piano. she could just imagine a fake heartbeat, thudding loudly in her ears--it was so intense that it almost sounded real. her hands hovered over the beautiful ivory keys, and they were shaking. God, what if this doesn't work? still, she had to try. otherwise, how would she ever know? she took a very slow, deep breath, and began to lower her fingers slightly. she didn't actually sit down, as she feared that was a bit too risky. besides, having her fingers slide right through a few piano keys wasn't nearly as embarrassing as falling through a bench and landing on the floor.
Aisling shut her eyes, end gently pressed her fingers down toward one of the keys. and then, amazingly, sound. they beautiful note echoed through the room, and Aisling felt her throat close with the passion and relief of it. still, it may be a fluke...slowly, she began to play the first few notes of teh melody that haunter her. her fingers began to pick up speed however, until she settled into the tune's original beat.
she took a deep breath, and began to sing, her scottish accent sliding in hear and there. she started a tad quite, her echo-y voice only slightly audible, but her voice grew just like her confidence that her fingers would continue to meet the keys.
"'You would not believe your eyes, if ten million fireflies, lit up the world as i fell asleep. 'cuz they fill the open air, they leave teardrops every were You'd think me rude, but i would just stand and....stare"

| (( I LOVE THIS SONG. o o; ))
Denskith's heart soared as that first key's sound rang throughout the room. Yes. YES! She could play! How wonderful! How wonderful!
Although Denskith wasn't that interesting in modern music, he had to admit that the song was a bit catchy. The melody had a certian ring to it that was pleasing. The girl was also singing along with it . . . She had a lovely voice. Perhaps not as trained as the piano, but she definately had potential. He felt himself get lost in the music. . . .
And then, once he was able to figure out the refrain, he found his mouth moving automatically. He couldn't stop himself, the rush of the music was too overwhelming, and Denskith soon was swept away, not able to control what he was doing.
"I'd like to make myself believe That Planet Earth-- turns-- slowly."
He tried to stop himself-- really, he did-- but Denskith soon found the singing irresistable, like he always did. There was a certian draw to it, a certian power. The music teacher soon manipulated his wonderful vocal cords for a harmony to the ghost girl's own voice.
Bliss. And nothing more. |

| "cuz I'd get a thousand hugs, from ten thousand lightning bugs, as they try to teach me how to dance. a fox trot above my head, a sock hop beneath my bed a disco ball is just hanging by a thread."
Aisling felt her "heart" soar as Denskith joined in with her. she grinned and kept singing--she was now mostly sitting on the bench, and she was nodding her head to the beat, doing that upper body dance bit that a lot of piano players seemed to do out of habit.
she tilted her head back slightly as she kept going with her favorite part, the little "extra" bit was given an extra twist; she made her voice echo just a tad bit more to give it some sound effects:
"leave my door open just a crack (please take me away from here) cuz i feel like such an insomniac (please tack me away from here) why do i tire of counting sheep? (please take me away from here) cuz i'm far too tired to fall asleep!
the song began reaching its end, and the notes of the piano rose and fell with her own dynamics: crescendo and diminuendo. a bit more noticeable than before as she played that last few repeats of the chorus. she loved this!!
((you might need to clue me in during any accidental commands....i'm not familiar with how that works yet XD) |

| (( None so far, since he was singing just the chorus-- I'll make sure to tell you, though, when such a thing occurs. ))
The echo-y part was so well done, and then . . . They were just repeating. How dull. The joy, the bliss, the excitement was gone in a flash. The euphoria faded away too quickly, and Denskith found himself in withdrawal. It was over? No. No! He wanted to sing more! He wanted to sing more with the ghost girl. Was that too much to ask for?
. . . Maybe not. She seemed to enjoy it, too. The overwhelming desire for music stepped in for Denskith's usual precautions. Music was the only important thing, after all.
"Let me step in," Denskith half grinned, offering to sit next to her on the piano's long stool. He had just the piece in mind, too. . . . |

| Aisling smiled at Denskith's offer. he seemed so much happier now. she was glad...for him, and for herself. singing with him was great, too; she was quite happy to continue it, though she was extremely curious as to what he would play. her excitement was brimming within her, wondering what it would be like to play with him as well as sing. wow, if break was like this, class would be awesome, as long as she could stay solid. and with music, she hoped that wouldn't be too big of a problem. |

Deskith beamed at the opprotunity. Yes. More music!
He showed her a small lick to play throughout the piece. Of course, there was more to the accompiant to it than that, but she would figure it out soon enough. She was a smart girl, the ghost.
"Music of the Night" was a nice duet, but was hard for one to simply pick-up on a piano, as he knew too well. Still, he wanted to sing somthing Phantom, so . . .
The lick repeated twice, his fingers moving as well only within a lower key. He took a deep yet subtle breath in . . .
"Think of me Think of me fondly When we've said good-bye . . ."
Of course, he took the song down to a more tenor range. He didn't want to scare the girl. Unfortunately, though, there was a reason why he avoided singing The Phantom of the Opera's songs in public: the songs were notorious for their commanding dialouge. There were no softeners in the lyrics, nothing to lessen the effects. Think of me . . . Think of me . . .
Think of me. An order. A command.
((The song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SF33K1ts-E Piano ver.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhiIVl6oWGo And yes, Den. could hit those high notes. > <; He's awesome like that. )) |

| Aisling took up the accompaniment as Denskith showed her, though it didn't take long for her to add heer own bits and pieces here and there. she had no sheet music, but she could hear the notes in her head; what would fit, and what wouldn't.
Phantom of the Opera....she loved the movie. loved the music even more, if it were possible. she regretted that she'd never been able to see it live. ah, well.
as Denskith sang the first few lines, she felt a...a push or nudge of some sort at the back of her mind. yes, she probably would think of him, and remember him...he'd given her her life back--well, so to speak.
dang, there was no way that she could hit these high notes as is...maybe if she figured out how to sing an accompaniment like she played them...she could bump an octave or something of the sort and still make it fit while actually being able to sing it. she listened to how Denskith sang it, trying to get a better feel for the lyrics. |

| Denskith failed to notice the commands, but he did notice the ghost girl's struggle with the higher register. Oh, no. No, that would not do at all. He bumped-up his own vocal chords to full Christian Daae range, not losing a bit of the quality while in the lower register. Bliss!
"We never said our love was evergreen Or as unchanging as the sea . . ."
Flawless. Flawless. Soprano, alto, tenor, it didn't matter-- Denskith could hit all of their notes and more.
"But if you can still remember Stop and think of me . . ."
Think of me . . . The command was being layered over and over. Think of me. Think of me. THINK OF ONLY ME. |

| Aisling's heart seemed to be singing along with Denskith...huh, did she have a heart? that was an odd thought. as she continued to play and sing--taking on Denskith's past alto/tenner range--she felt an odd buzz in her head. the buzz got stronger, turning onto a full blown humming. she blinked. what was that? Denskith...the name kept pushing into her head. she gave it a little push back, finding that it did ease a bit. another push, and it cleared away for the most part, though Denskith's face still floated at the very edge of her mind. what was that? curious...
throughout this, she strangely hadn't missed a beat to the song; aisling the multi-tasker. |

| Denskith felt the slight resistance, disrupting his seemingly eternal bliss. What was that? Let's see: the push was only felt when he was controlling someone, but that couldn't be--
Oh. Oh.
Denskith's fingers abruptly slid off the piano's keys, his expression . . . empty. Blank. Fear crept into his mind. For the first time in a long, long time, only a single thought rang through his head:
What had he done?
He was so ashamed. He got caught-up in the music. AGAIN. How could he? How could . . . |

| Aisling watched Denskith for a moment. his expression had just gone from bliss to self destruction in about 2 seconds flat. she chewed on her bottom lip for a moment, before speaking. "that was you, then, right?" there was no fear in her voice, no anger, no resentment...more like a simple curiosity. she wondered what that had been. aisling looked back at her soon-to-be-music teacher again. he'd been so happy while singing. she ran her fingers over the piano keys thoughtfully, thinking of how painful it would be if she were deprived of the music |

| Aisling's question rang through his empty head.
Yes, that was him. It was always him. Why couldn't it be someone else, for a change? Why couldn't it-- no, it was always him for a reason. It was always his fault. No one could change that for him. No one . . .
Denskith, like an empty husk, turned his head slowly towards the ghost-girl, his blue eyes now lifeless and empty. Like life itself just sucked all the joy from him. Which, life did. It liked doing that.
There was no need for an answer. He didn't have a proper one to give, anyways. |

| Aisling saw Denskith's expression, and her eyebrows pinched slightly with worry. "hey, its ok...its easy to get carried away with that song. its a good one...," she bit her lip, trying to figure out a way to tell him it was ok. but she wasn't all that good with consoling--she hadn't had much experience with it. her eyes drifted back to the piano, and she started to play out a quiet tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjZZd0fP_Ow
it was a quiet, almost haunting melody, but she liked the feel of it as she tried to sort her thoughts out.
the tune picked up in rhythm towards the end, though, growing slightly in volume here and there. it was pretty though...and there were no lyrics. |

| (( WHY DO YOU PICK OUT THE ONE SONG GARUNTEED TO MAKE ME CRY!? o o;;; ))
Denskith shook his head softly as Aisling spoke. 'Carried away' . . . That was exactly it. And, it was never a good thing to do. Never . . .
He listened quietly to this new song, not recognizing the melody but respecting it nonetheless. It was probably from a soundtrack from some movie, but . . . the music was good, solid, whimsical. Good 'thinking' music, except he never thought when music was played. He couldn't. The bliss was always too much.
He began to sing along to the music without any words, just notes. They faded in and out. Denskith didn't even realize he was doing it, but somehow, he knew the notes belonged there.
So touching. What a wonderful melody . . .
Tears streamed down from his blue eyes. Yes; so very touching . . . |
